Once you have enjoyed your two hour historical Eco tour aboard the Zephyrus, disembark at the dock and meander the grounds up to the River Center for a quick break. There a local resident, Murray Goodman will take you on our village walking tour and talk about the heritage of the area pointing out historical buildings along the way to Beamers Creek Coffee Roasters a home based business. They will tell you their story and have a sampling of coffee to share.
You continue on your walking tour to another home business Gridiron Brewing Company. This Brewery is the home of Luke MacGregor and his wife Heather Avery, they run the brewery day-to-day out of an old church that was moved to the property in 1970. Fresh beers are always on tap, and great stories about the building, brewing, and beer is shared with friends and patrons alike.
Here you can sample the crafted beer while you wait for your three course smoked meal prepared by Chef Corey Richard. Corey was born and raised right here in the beautiful province of New Brunswick, Canada in a small rural area called Pennfield. He is a self-proclaimed foodie and LOVER of all things barbequed!
His passion is for cooking a good quality barbecue. To think it all started by baking with the loving hands of his grandmother, the teaching hands of his mother, to cooking for his wife and now passing this knowledge onto his culinary curious son. Rewarding and humbling to say the least. He will prepare a good old southern comfort low and slow smoked barbecue infused with north of the border flavours and traditions.
Our local artist Cathy Hutch will be on hand to entertain you while you enjoy this down home hospitality. Cathy is a multi-talented performer from New Brunswick who writes and sings from the core of her being, Cathy Hutch is an award-winning indie artist who has toured and performed across Canada. Her debut album “Not Goin’ Back” (2008) was recorded in Nashville and features the world renowned “I’m In Here – The Anthem for Autism”, co-written for her daughter Kristy.
Originally a drummer in several popular NB bands, including Sound F/X (Woodstock) and The George Street Blues Project (Fredericton); Cathy’s powerful and percussive sense of rhythm comes to the forefront whenever she picks up a guitar, delighting audiences everywhere she goes!
“Cathy Hutch is everything that is good about live music. She is charming, witty, multi-talented and has a smile that would light the way out of a bar during a power failure. With or without accompaniment Cathy is every bit a professional entertainer. As a songwriter, Cathy exhibits insights into the human condition that show her to have a heart as big as her voice. And man can she liven up a crowd! She rocks, she rolls, and, above all, she entertains.” Richard Blaquiere
